Insurance Department details stats on fraud cases
The New York State Insurance Department's Frauds Bureau made 491 arrests in the first nine months of 2010. That's up from 490 during the same period last year and 478 in 2008. The bureau obtained 335 convictions through the first nine months of the year, compared with 389 a year ago and 338 in 2008.
